SCYMF Annual Sessions Registration Now Open

(US/Pacific)

This year's Sierra-Cascades Yearly Meeting Annual Sessions will gather Friends around the theme “A Life Infused with Hope.” We will meet at Reedwood Friends Church in Portland from Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12 for worship, business, fellowship, workshops, music, and shared meals.

Our keynote speaker will be Christy Randazzo (they/them), a Quaker writer, teacher, and minister who teaches at Montclair State University and Earlham School of Religion. Christy will offer messages throughout the weekend and speak during our joint Sunday worship service.

Friends can look forward to church reports, workshops, a trail walk, karaoke, book tables hosted by Barclay Press, and a book signing with Shelley Warner, author of Recognizing Wolves. Programs for children and youth are also being planned, including outdoor water play, science activities, Quaker history storytelling, and other hands-on experiences.

This year's workshops include:

  • Clerking and Being Clerked — Jane Snyder
  • Quaker Action for a Just World: The Work of AFSC — Ainsley Bruton
  • Bonsai: An Introduction to an Ancient Art Form — Jim Miller
  • Telling Our Stories — Leann Williams
  • Equipping Young Adults with Quaker Tools — Mike Huber
  • The Practice of Neighboring — Megan Fair
  • An Introduction to Faith & Play and Godly Play — David Wakeley
  • Praying with SoulCollage® — Ruba Byrd

Saturday T-Shirt Witness: Friends are encouraged to wear a favorite T-shirt expressing a cause, concern, witness, ministry, or issue they care deeply about.

Most sessions will be available on Zoom for Friends who cannot attend in person. Portland-area Friends have volunteered to host out-of-town attendees who would prefer a home stay. Meals will be provided Friday lunch through Sunday lunch, with Friends providing their own breakfasts.

Registration closes Friday, June 26, 2026.

Complete schedule information, workshop descriptions, registration details, housing information, and volunteer opportunities can all be found on the SCYMF website.
