Western Friend Spring 2026 Writing Workshop

This four-week writing workshop offers Friends in the West an opportunity to connect over writing via Zoom. Lead by Caitlin Churchill, Editor of Western Friend, and author Casey Chaffin*, this workshop will support Friends in the creation of short personal narratives. Through reading writing samples we’ll explore the feedback process and using prompts we’ll write together and share with the group.
This workshop focuses on nonfiction essay and short-form memoir, using the upcoming Western Friend themes: “Fire” and “In the Light.” We will explore how to form a personal essay in a supportive environment. The workshop is free of charge but donations to Western Friend are gratefully accepted. In order to form a group of mutual support, please commit to attending all four sessions.
